An expanded take on the 23rd Psalm--

The Lord is my Shepherd......THAT'S RELATIONSHIP!
I shall not want.....THAT'S SUPPLY!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.....THAT'S REST!
He leadeth me beside still waters.....THAT'S REFRESHMENT!
He restoreth my soul.....THAT'S HEALING!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness.....THAT'S GUIDANCE!
For His name sake.....THAT'S PURPOSE!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.....
THAT'S TESTING!
I will fear no evil.....THAT'S PROTECTION!
For Thou art with me..... THAT'S FAITHFULNESS!
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.....THAT'S DISCIPLINE!
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.....
THAT'S HOPE!
Thou anointest my head with oil.....THAT'S CONSECRATION!
My cup runneth over.....THAT'S ABUNDANCE!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.....
THAT'S BLESSING!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord.....THAT'S SECURITY!
Forever.....THAT'S ETERNITY!

Agape

The response for agape for Women's Walk #30 was great! The pilgrims saw your outpouring of love at mealtime and bedtime. Men's Walk #26 is coming up soon (July 17-20). We need 64 pieces for mealtime agape, 36 pieces for pilgrim bedtime agape, and 64 pieces for pilgrim/team bedtime agape. Please mark on your bag/box how many pieces there are so we don't have to count everything to figure out where it goes. This is a tremendous help to us. Let's show the Men of Walk #26 how much they are loved.
Also, no SUPER agape for pilgrims. We still had some brought in for the Women's Walk. If it won't fit in the Sunday packet, the pilgrims will not get it until after the Walk. This creates extra work for the team to find the sponsors to take care of their pilgrim's Super agape, so please wait and give it to them after the Walk. This would be a wonderful act of agape for them on the way home or in the following week.
Reminder: We would like to create a new agape letter for the Sidney Emmaus Community. This is the letter that we send to other communities for their Walks and are hung up for the pilgrims to read. Many of the communities are requesting that we e-mail our letter to them. So, if you have an idea for our agape letter and you have a computer, please create it in Microsoft Word and e-mail it to me by July 15 at gmandy@bright.net  If you have an idea but don't have a computer, put your idea on paper and mail it to me at 210 East Walnut, Anna, Ohio 45302. I will present all ideas to the Emmaus Board in July for their decision.

Thanks for being disciples of Christ.
Pat Gregg, Agape Chairperson

From the Men's / Women's Registrars

Our sincere thanks to the Sponsor's, Pilgrims, Live in Team, Clergy and Emmaus Community for assisting on Women's Walk #30! A reminder that your prospective pilgrim is only registered if they have received a confirmation card, or phone call from the Registrar. If you have sent an application in as a sponsor, and have not received a letter or call from the Sponsorship chairman, your pilgrim is not registered for that weekend. Feel free to contact either registrar at any time to check the status of your pilgrim.
As of the end of June, there are still about 20 spots left for the July Men's Walk. If you feel the Holy Spirit nudging you to invite someone, now may be the time!

A Praise from WW#30 Team Member....
His joy was met by our Grace
And a resounding Glory was present
His service was our command
His beauty our destiny

The depths of anguish and the pain of satan bounds
Sadness erupts as mercy calls
We were as angels in chariots
Gathering His sheep

His breath was as a whisper
Gentle was the touch of His love
His goodness reigned as mighty assurance
Blessings of purity became whole

Our Savior was our guidance
His love their salvation
Prayers will encompass them as they journey
I praise you my King and open my heart with thanksgiving

Be A Good Sponsor

Being a good sponsor brings with it many responsibilities and everyone should read the last chapter of the Day Four book you were given on your Walk. It will tell you that not everyone is ready for an Emmaus Walk, and there are some people with problems that need professional help or are so severe that they are not able to focus on a Walk. The person should be a seeker, someone who is looking for a relationship with our Lord.
There are things that you as a sponsor need to do for the pilgrim. One is to explain what, in general terms, is going to happen on the walk. Getting agape letters and getting those from friends and relatives is essential. Make sure you have enough time to get those letters. You need to bring your pilgrim to the walk and then take them home afterwards. After the send off there is a Sponsor's hour in the Chapel where there is a special service for sponsors. You should also attend Candlelight and Closing. Make sure that your pilgrims family's needs are attended to during the walk. The second most important aspect of a sponsor happens after the walk. It is primarily the Sponsor's responsibility to help the pilgrim get established in a share group. Maybe even start a new one along with another experienced person would be an option..
For some of you this was old information and for others, you may not have known what is expected of you. For more information and details, please read your Day Four booklet and oh, by the way, the most important thing you can do is pray and pray some more.

John Lockwood, Sponsorship Chair

IF JESUS CAME TO YOUR HOUSE

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." - Revelation 3:20
If Jesus came to your house to spend some time with you, And you didn't know He was coming, what do you think you would do?
You'd probably start by giving him the finest room in your place, And tell Him over and over, that you're glad to see His face. You'd serve Him the best foods and try to make Him feel right at ease, Using all the polite words like, "Thank You," and "If you please."
But I wonder what would happen if you saw Him coming up the road, Would you run to greet Him and welcome Him to your abode? Or, would you scatter about the house to hide the videos? Would you place the Holy Bible where the magazine goes?
Would you change the radio station to music more appealing, If Jesus came to your home, what would your tv be revealing? Would your behavior at all change, when He was around the house? Would you act more loving to your children and your spouse?
At dinner time when you looked across the table at His face, Would you find it very difficult before eating to say grace? And what about your friends, would you invite them over too? Or would you be afraid of what they would say about you?
Would you keep right on saying the things you always say? Would the things you always do be done the same that day? And what about your life, would it continue just the same? Could you keep right on living like you were before He came?
Do you think you would be able to take Jesus where you had planned to go? Or would there a change of plans, because you don't want Him to know? Would the books you read still be read, and the songs you sing still be sung? Would you be happy to have him around, or dreading that the doorbell rung?
And if the Lord could read your mind while He was your honored guest, Would you be ashamed of your thoughts, your motives, attitude and the rest? Where would He see you spend your time, would it offend or flatter? Would He see you working for the Kingdom, or living for things that don't matter?
And when the visit drew to an end and He left would you grieve? Or, would you with a sigh of relief be glad to see Him leave?
Sometimes it's good to think about how we'd live with Jesus around, Because that's the way we should live, for in our hearts He is found. So today as you go about your life, consider what you would do, If Jesus came to your house to spend some time with you.
